European Blackjack by Switch Studios is a unique and immensely popular blackjack variant that can be enjoyed on mobile devices and desktops. Instead of a live dealer, high-tech RNG (Random Number Generator) software is used to determine the outcome of each deal.

It starts with the player being dealt two face-down cards. Next, the dealer is given one face-up and one face-down card. The player must then decide whether to hit, stand or split, and depending on the player's ensuing hand value; the dealer receives his second card.

Switch Studios' version of European Blackjack caters for bets of £1 to £200, and it also boasts an excellent RTP of 99.60%.

Our Verdict:

European Blackjack is a type of online blackjack that's challenging enough to attract seasoned players while also being easy enough to learn for beginners to try it out.

This particular version of the popular online card game has been produced by Switch Studios for Microgaming, and it offers excellent returns of up to 3:2.

The HD graphics, authentic sound effects, and the optional dealer's voice make you feel as though you're sat inside a bricks-and-mortar casino.

Design:

When you walk into your local casino to play blackjack, you'd look for the nearest available table and pull up a seat before starting to play. However, with this version of European Blackjack, you simply load the game on your PC or mobile, and you'll find yourself in a virtual seat in front of a very realistic blackjack table.

It's also worth noting that unlike in a bricks-and-mortar casino, you can choose to play for fun or play for real. Play for fun is a good place to start if you're an inexperienced player as you won't be playing with actual cash.

If you want to read up on the rules, the Help file can be located within the drop-down menu at the top-left of the game screen. You can also add the game to your favourites by clicking on the heart icon over on the right so that next time you visit Quartz Casino, it'll be there waiting for you.

Running along the bottom of the screen are the various chip sizes that you can choose from £1, £2, £5, £10, £20, £25, £50, £100, or £200. Simply click on a chip to select it then click the white circle on the table to place your bet. Once you're ready to go, click or tap the "Deal" button, and the computer software will begin dealing the cards.

Wild Symbol:

This game does not use a wild symbol.

Bonus Features:

European Blackjack offers you two main choices – hit or stand – which mean that you either choose to decline any further cards or request an additional card. However, in certain situations, you can split your hand to form two or more hands which you can bet on independently for extra chances to win.

You can also opt to take insurance so that if the dealer gets a blackjack, you still get some of your money back.
